Proposal 2: New Parent Life

I would follow two new parents who just recently adopted twins. The twins are 5 week olds and were 8 weeks early. This is the parents first children so they are brand new to this life. I would follow them around for a few weeks and take pictures of the many activities they complete in their daily lives. This includes nap time, feed time, car rides, trips to the store, etc. My goal is to give a glimpse into new parent life which is something many people my age do not know too much about, including myself. I want to get picture of both the babies and the parents, singularly and together.

My shot list would include,
Babies napping
Babies being bottled fed by parents
Babies being rocked to sleep
Babies going for a ride in their car seats
Laying on the ground
Parents relaxing and working

Proposal 1: A Day in Cincinnati

My first proposal is following one (or two) friends into the city for a day starting from early morning to the evening.  The beginning will start with them driving into the city via the Big Mac bridge and then ending by driving into Clifton. So I will photograph them exploring significant land marks as well as participating in activities involved in the city and it will move inward. So the first destination will be Sawyer's Point park and around that area, then moving on to the heart of the city a Fountain Square, and essentially the final destination would be in Over The Rhine. My goal is to show how unique and beautiful Cincinnati is. It is an extremely underrated city and there is really so much to do, especially downtown whether it be skating in the park, eating at one of the many local cuisines (especially skyline), drinking at one of the many local breweries, and so much more. Not only does it highlight some of Cincinnati's best qualities but it also tells the story of two friends.

My shot list could include:
Action photos of riding bikes in the park
Eating food at the skyline near fountain square
Petting the horses of the carriages on the streets
Sitting at the fountain
Standing in front of one of the many murals
Dancing to street performers

The list could go on and on! My two models were out of town at the time I had to take test shots but they would be similar to this photo I had previously taken below.

Project 5 - Part 1: Self Portraits

Cartier Bresson Photos

I really enjoy this photo. Part of the reason is because my eyes follow the stairs all the way down to the biker. It is very interesting to  observe the biker who is not clear or sharp but blurry. It adds a sense of mystery to the photo especially since you can not see what is around the corner there for where the biker is going. There are also multiple textures that provide a nice contrast between the wall, street, and sidewalk as well!

This photo is very simple, but complex at the same time. There are multiple methods of framing including the framing of the trees in the photo itself as well as the pathway moving into the trees. My eye begins following the path and then moves to following the trees to the left. There is a nice contrast with the black of the trees and the grey of the sky. The texture in the grass and leaves catches my eye as well. I just really enjoy the overall simplicity of this photo.
